Controlling pH Responsive Polymersome Assembly
Vesicles are formed when a membrane curves to produce a spherical structure, which in turn entraps an aqueous volume within its lumen. When these structures are formed using a polymers, a polymeric vesicle or “Polymersome” is formed. The biomimetic nature of these assemblies has attracted much attention in the field of biomedicine over the last decade, especially with regards to therapeutic or ...
متن کاملpH RESPONSIVE CASEIN MICROPARTICLES AS A CARRIER FOR METHOTREXATE
Casein microparticles cross linked with glutaraldehyde were prepared by steric stabilization process and the controlled release of drug from the particles were evaluated in-vitro. Casein is a natural biopolymer present abundantly in milk is utilized because of its biocompatibility through oral route. Methotrexate loaded Casein microparticles of size 0.5 to 5 μm were prepared. The release of met...
متن کاملpH responsive polymersome Pickering emulsion for simple and efficient Janus polymersome fabrication.
Crosslinked poly(acrylic acid)-b-polystyrene polymersomes were successfully employed to form a water-in-oil Pickering emulsion and enabled an easy and reversible disassembly due to the pH sensitivity. The side of the polymersomes exposed to the water phase was selectively modified with metal nanoparticles, allowing facile formation of anisotropically modified Janus polymersomes.
متن کاملMechanisms of burst release from pH-responsive polymeric microparticles.
OBJECTIVES Microencapsulation of drugs into preformed polymers is commonly achieved through solvent evaporation techniques or spray drying. We compared these encapsulation methods in terms of controlled drug release properties of prepared microparticles and investigated the underlying mechanisms responsible for the 'burst release' effect. METHODS Using two different pH-responsive polymers wit...
متن کاملHistamine and its Releasing Agents
Spontaneous histamine release from isolarted Mastcells was found to be independent of calcium in the concentration range up to 1 m. mole/lit. Phosphatidyl serine do not change the effect of calcium on spontaneous release. The activation of anaphyla.ctic histamine release by calcium is potentiated by phosphatidyl serine but the laitter can't do so w1th strontium. Mastcells, pretreated with AT...
